Styles

  • Two mannequins wearing standalone bear headgear, with the text "Standalone headdress" at the top.

    Stand-alone Headdress

This design can only be worn on top of the head. While the basic piece will give you the essentials, as with all our pieces, you have the option to add additional parts and details.

  • A mannequin dressed in a medieval-style leather armor with a fur-lined cape. The mannequin wears a realistic faux fur bear headdress with paws.

    Mask Headdress Combo

As the name suggests, these pieces can be worn as headdresses and masks interchangeably. The advantage of combos is that if you tire of wearing it as a mask, or if you’re eating or drinking, it’s as simple as flipping the snout up and comfortably wearing your wolf on your head as a headdress and still looking great in it. As with all animals, additional body parts can also be added to the basic piece. If you’re concerned about visibility with a Mask headdress combo, you May request a mask without acrylic eyes to allow a larger peephole for visibility. Please keep in mind, your own eyes are unlikely to show through the peepholes unless light is shinning straight into them.

Design

  • Comparison of Viking or medieval mantle or cape cuts, showing a jagged cut on the left and a clean cut on the right, both made of fur.

    Mantle & Cape cuts

All pieces are entirely customized so no client is ever limited to what we present on our website or may suggest in emails. Out main two cuts are the clean cut and the jagged cut. These cuts can be applied to either a slightly extended mantle or a cape or body portion of an animal. Because the jagged cut produces more fabric waste, it is usually slightly more expensive and thus considered an upgrade. The jagged cut can also be coupled with an undercut of “torn skin” which would hang down below the fur line for a rough and rustic look. This would need to be requested independently. The jagged cut is applicable to all edges of a piece, including the front portion of the mantle.

    The Basic Piece

The Basic version of any of our animals will give you coverage of head and mantle. Basic pieces do not include teeth or acrylic eyes. The default piece will always have heavily glossed black eyes. The base price will reflect this extent. Additional details and body parts can be added in full or partial pieces. Most upgrade costs will already be listed under the animal in question but if the design you have in mind is not reflected, we will work independently with each client to make their design a realty.

Body Style & Cut

As mentioned above, a Basic piece, represented by figure #1 here, includes the head, neck and upper mantle of the creature. You May request various body parts and combinations. As an example, If you order pattern #5 at length4, you may request no paws or the jagged cut chest piece shown in figure #3. The mock-ups shown here are simply suggestions and visuals for possible designs.

Facial Expression

Comparison of a realistic faux fur bear headdress with and without a snarl expression. The left side shows the bear's face with a snarl, furrowed brow, and slightly wrinkled nose. The right side shows the bear's face in a neutral, relaxed expression.

If you’re looking for a more aggressive look, the facial expression of most our animals can be offered with a snarl. Snarls are the wrinkles along the snout, usually paired with a more defined brow to give the animal a more fierce look. You can choose the extent of the snarl to some degree. For example, you may choose to have the more defined brows and forgo any of the wrinkles on the snout. Alternatively you can have less defined wrinkles.

Teeth

A collage showing the different ways to wear a mask headdress combo. The top shows the mask with and without teeth. The bottom row compares a default version with no teeth and a version with teeth displayed, highlighting different facial features.

Teeth are optional additions to all animals and not included in our default basic package. Whether or not you choose to add teeth is entirely subjective and up to you. Teeth can be added to neutral expressions or along with snarls. Teeth are solid resin and are highly unlikely to break or warp. All animals come with the option of adding damage to the teeth. For example you may request to have one tooth broken; perhaps along with scars on the same side of the face of the animal.

Bears are available in a variety of species and designs ranging from grizzlies, Kodiaks, black and cinnamon bears, polar bears and even the giant panda. You’re in no way limited in design and color though. Much like the wolf, these captivating animals can be made into various wearable and display pieces.
