This piece is a prototype of our new more economical models made on 3D printed bases.
About this specific piece:
This is a prototype and thus $110 less than its final form. It is otherwise built to the same quality as the final product release.
This specific mask is better suited for petit figures but will fit a large standard deviation. Visibility through the mask is quite good with far peripheral vision and macular field covered as a natural result of the mask. Our strapping system is adjustable.
The first 4 wolves from this line will be sold at a slightly lower cost than the final piece. These wolves, being sold at a lower price are made with the same care as the final pieces. The difference is simply in natural modifications that came about as a result of the development of this piece.
Regardless there are several key difference which make these models cheaper than our regular line which apply to both the prototypes as well as the final pieces.
About our 3D printed masks
1. 3D prints, strong as they are, are not the same caliper as the proprietary casts we make for our main line.
2. these bases are less detailed. While I still put great care in the shading and finish of these pieces, the base itself is fundamentally a simplified sculpt.
3. these 3D models will not have lining like our regular line pieces. While comfortable, they don’t have the same soft interior finish. This allows me to keep their production costs low. Clients can of course always add their own lining where necessary/ if necessary.
4. our 3D models will be made only as in stock pieces or as pre-order items for the time being. They are not available as custom pieces at this moment in time. This is also to help maintain lower costs. All custom pieces require communication and referencing which slows down the process and inevitable increases production cost.
5. at the moment we will not be providing teeth or acrylic eyes for these pieces.
6. we will not be selling the blank bases or the model alone. They will only be completed pieces.
